About The Search

The Search Downhill Daytrips:

The Search is based in Morzine, France and offers downhill mountain bike day trips and long weekend trips to other bike friendly resorts in the Alps.

We operate to a number of regular venues but are very flexible and will visit any resort that will make a viable days trip.  2009 will be our second season in operation, so expect a refined service and some more places to ride! The Search is owned and operated by Nick Maher: 

"Like many others I've been coming to the Alps to ride for many years. I first came out to Morzine over ten years ago and have returned almost every year until I decided to move out here permanently and concentrate fully on mountain bikes and snowboarding.

I've been riding bikes all my life, finding my way to downhill in the mid-nineties and have now let bikes dominate my life to the point that they have become my "job" as well as "just" a hobby.

The Search came about as the result of an idea that has been developing since I moved to France a couple of years ago, to try to show mountain bikers the wealth of opportunity that the Alps offers.  As a veteran of many week/fortnight trips to Morzine I've experienced that frustration of knowing that there must be other places to ride but not having the knowledge to be able commit to somewhere and just go!  Now after a few summers of exploring and keeping my ear to the ground, I've started to scratch the surface of the amount of riding there is in the Alps. Hopefully, The Search will give a lot more people the opportunity to see more of the mountains with their bike, without missing out on the tried and tested".
